Frequently asked questions

Interview Kicker questions and answers

Learn how Interview Kicker creates focused mock interviews, what its feedback means, how your data can be controlled, and which technologies support the experience.

What does Interview Kicker do?

Interview Kicker provides private, text-based mock interview practice. It creates a bounded set of role-relevant questions from evidence you choose, lets you answer at your own pace, and can produce a grounded descriptive evaluation after a completed session.

Who is Interview Kicker for?

It is designed for job seekers who want to organize truthful examples, practice explaining their experience, and become more comfortable with likely interview topics. Occupation guides and a complete fictional example also help people prepare before starting a session.

What can I use to create a practice interview?

You can choose an eligible Resume Kicker report, provide a resume and job description, or confirm a role. The selected source keeps the practice focused on the position and evidence you control.

Does Interview Kicker predict whether I will get hired?

No. Its evaluation is descriptive practice feedback, not a hiring prediction, employability judgment, or substitute for an employer's decision. It does not provide an overall hiring score.

Is Interview Kicker free to use?

Yes. Interview Kicker currently offers its interview-practice experience at no charge. Signing in is required for personalized sessions, history, exports, and data controls.

Is an account required?

You can read the public interview guides, job-search resources, and example without signing in. A secure account is required to start and save a personalized practice session.

How does Interview Kicker use artificial intelligence?

Interview Kicker calls OpenAI directly to generate bounded interview questions, limited follow-ups, and structured practice feedback. Application rules validate the generated content before it is shown. AI can still make mistakes, so users should review feedback critically and never invent experience to match it.

What technology is the website built with?

Interview Kicker is a modern web application built with Next.js and React. It uses Auth0 for account authentication, a Neon-hosted PostgreSQL database for application data, and OpenAI for the interview-practice features. Security, privacy, and data-control measures are part of the application design.

Can I download or delete my interview data?

Yes. Signed-in users can download a text export and delete individual sessions, including incomplete sessions. The Data controls area also explains the available account-level deletion choices and retention practices.

Does Interview Kicker replace a career coach or recruiter?

No. It is a self-directed practice tool. It does not represent an employer, guarantee an interview or offer, provide professional certification, or replace advice from a qualified career, legal, or other professional adviser.
