Interview Kicker Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Interview Kicker handles information when you visit the site or use private interview-practice features. Interview Kicker is a separate product from Resume Kicker, even when you use the same sign-in identity or select an owned Resume Kicker source.

Information we process

  • Account information: the stable account identifier and authentication information supplied through Auth0. Interview Kicker does not receive your Auth0 password.
  • Source information: the owned Resume Kicker report or documents you select, or the role path and settings you confirm. Selected source information is copied into an encrypted Interview Kicker snapshot so an existing session can continue independently.
  • Practice content: generated questions, your answers and skips, session settings, transcripts, evaluations, and retry provenance.
  • Operational information: bounded usage counts, model and schema versions, token totals, timestamps, safe error codes, and content-free deletion receipts.
  • Technical and public-site analytics information: hosting, authentication, and analytics providers may process ordinary request, device, network, cookie, security, and public-page interaction information needed to deliver, protect, and understand use of the service.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, show only sources and sessions you own, create and resume bounded practice interviews, generate grounded feedback, enforce usage and safety limits, provide history/export/deletion controls, diagnose failures without logging practice content, protect the service, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

AI processing

The minimum context needed for planning, follow-up decisions, or evaluation is sent server-to-server to OpenAI. Requests use the Responses API with response storage disabled. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models. Unless approved project controls apply, abuse-monitoring logs may retain customer content for up to 30 days. Interview Kicker does not claim Zero Data Retention. See the AI disclosure for limitations.

Service providers and disclosures

Interview Kicker uses service providers acting on its behalf, including Auth0 for authentication, Neon for database infrastructure, OpenAI for model processing, Vercel for application hosting, and Google Analytics for public-site usage measurement. They process information under their own service terms and data-protection commitments. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Interview Kicker does not sell personal information, rent practice content, serve behavioral advertising, or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Security

We use measures designed for the sensitivity of practice data, including server-side ownership checks, authenticated encryption for source snapshots and interview content, separate encryption keys for Resume Kicker compatibility and Interview Kicker data, strict request validation, origin checks on mutations, private no-store caching, and content-free operational logging. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Retention and deletion

  • Sessions and encrypted evaluations remain until you delete them.
  • Daily usage metadata is retained for 120 days.
  • Content-free deletion receipts are retained for 60 days to support idempotency and restore safety.
  • OpenAI provider retention is described above.

Deleting a session or all Interview Kicker data removes the applicable live application rows with no in-app recovery. The current Neon recovery window is six hours, with no configured snapshots or external database backups. A restore procedure must replay retained deletion receipts before service resumes.

Your controls and privacy rights

You can review history, download a plain-text transcript, delete individual sessions—including incomplete sessions—or permanently delete all Interview Kicker data from Data controls. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights to access, correct, delete, or receive information, or to appeal a privacy request decision.

Interview Kicker deletion does not delete your Resume Kicker account, resumes, job descriptions, or reports. Use Resume Kicker's own controls for that product. Deleting a Resume Kicker source does not automatically delete an existing encrypted Interview Kicker snapshot.

Cookies and tracking

Interview Kicker uses authentication and security cookies needed to sign you in and maintain a protected session. Google Analytics may use first-party analytics cookies and similar browser information to measure visits and interactions on public pages. The implementation disables Google advertising signals and ad-personalization signals, omits query strings from recorded page locations, and does not load or send page-view events on authentication, practice, history, settings, or API routes.

Interview Kicker does not intentionally send resumes, job descriptions, interview answers, evaluations, account identifiers, session identifiers, or private application URLs to Google Analytics. Analytics retention and deletion are administered through the configured Google Analytics property and Google's provider controls.

Children

The service is designed for job seekers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate.

International processing

Service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Privacy protections may differ by jurisdiction; providers are expected to use appropriate contractual and legal safeguards where required.

Policy changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect product, provider, or legal changes. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate notice and will not silently authorize materially broader uses of previously collected practice content.
